Douglas J. Eboch's Diary of doing the festival circuit with his short film The 24 Year-Old Virgin

Preparations are underway for the Palm Springs Short Film Festival. Our screening time is 1 p.m. Sunday, September 21st. That's not a super high profile time slot, but it has some definite advantages. Most important, being on the weekend, attendance should be good. It'll be expecially convenient for cast and crew coming from L.A. There'll be plenty of time to drive out in the morning and drive back in the evening. I'll consider arranging a reception or something, but that will be a pretty packed day at the festival, so it may not work out.

Sent the screening tape to the festival today. I also got 300 color, glossy postcards made up. They look really good. Next I need to make up some professional caliber press kits. I'm going to have a friend who has a high quality color printer print out the publicity stills on photo paper for the kits. I found some folders that I can insert one of the postcards in the front cover which should look nice. I also need to get some more VHS tapes duped as the festival wants five for promotional purposes and I only have four left.

Return to Diary.
